Our baby boy is growing up!

With baby girl's approaching due date (July 22nd), we've felt the need to get the house in order, do some rearranging, and get Gavin adjusted a little before baby sister arrives. We've been reading books to him about being a good big brother, sleeping in a big kid bed, and learning to do more things by himself (like taking off his shoes, brushing his teeth, and pulling up his pants). He loves the books and was really excited to go bed shopping on multiple occasions, but he's a little resistant to doing things for himself. The response I get is usually, "no Mommy, you do it". We attempted some potty training last month, but after 2 stickers and a few jelly beans, he was no longer interested so we gave up. I think we'll just let him decide when he's ready. Of course I say that now, but hopefully I won't regret it later this summer. :) Almost all of Gavin's friends have baby siblings now, so I'm hoping that sharing the spotlight won't come as such a huge shock to him. He's pretty independent when I'm with him, but it may be a little harder for him to share Daddy time. We'll see. Anyway, here are some pictures and videos of Gavin being his cute and funny little self.

This particular episode of Blue's Clues was about a box that can be anything you want it to be if you use your imagination. Gavin insisted on watching it from inside a box. :)

Playing drums in the Africa exhibit at the zoo

Perhaps the most awesome part of the zoo: the safari jeep. Gavin & his neighbor friends, Dylan and Olivia, could've played in this for hours.

We actually had a day where it didn't rain in March, so here is a shot of Gavin outdoors.

First we introduced the big boy pillow in his crib so he could get used to that before sleeping in the big bed. This is Gavin's excited face.

Gavin playing "baby night-night", which involved me tucking him in, turning out the light, and leaving the room about 10 times while he giggled excitedly.

He enjoyed shopping for mattresses a lot more than I thought he would.

Gavin is obsessed with our master shower and loves it when Daddy takes him in there with him. Sometimes, Gavin will just stand in the shower when it's off and sing his favorite songs.

The big boy room is finished, and he loves it!

I like the big boy room. Nice choice of colors.
