It didn't take long for Gavin to figure out what to do in the Johnny-Jump-Up. He still lacks control, but it sure is funny to watch. :)

4 months old
Gavin had his 4 month check-up last week and we were not surprised to learn that our kid is in the 95th percentile for height and 75th for weight. We knew he seemed huge! He's actually grown over 7 inches in 4 months. It's so weird to look back at his newborn clothes and to imagine how small he was (he's now in 6-9 month clothing). He's cooing lots, trying to hold his bottle, and is almost sitting up by himself, with the boppy behind him. We think he'll probably skip the crawling phase and go right to walking. :)

What's up...
Paul and I have been pretty busy now that the holiday down time is behind us. We're both back at work (me part-time), and Gavin is busy just growing and growing. He rolled over from his tummy to back last week and has really discovered his voice lately. It's really really loud. :) We also got him a Bumbo seat (see below) because he just loves to sit up and look at the world, but can't do it without assistance yet. I thought I bought a green one at the store, but when we unpacked it at home it was pink. I don't think he minds though. My friend Carly loaned us her Johnny Jump Up, but Gavin hasn't quite figured it out yet. So far, he just likes to swing in it and relax, but with the way this boy likes to move and kick, we know he'll be jumping himself silly in no time!
look at me - I'm crazy!

Christmas update
Sorry we've been slacking for the last 2 weeks! Christmas was a small affair this year. We finally made it out of our neighborhood (with chains) on Christmas Eve and drove to my mom's in Salem to spend a few nights. Kristin was also there, but Derek was back East with Meg's family, and Ryan's flight from L.A. was cancelled because of the snow. My grandmother was also in the hospital for a week, but thankfully she is doing better and was able to go home. The big excitement in Salem was the Wii game Kristin brought with her. We had hours of fun bowling, boxing, playing tennis, and playing baseball. Norma is still glowing from her bowling score. :)
Here are some pictures from the last few weeks.
