Chickens & Cheeks

So for those of you who read this, but don't know already, this month has been full of changes. Paul recently got a new job with a great company in town and is loving his new position. Since his new job offers benefits, we've decided that I will take some time off and be a stay-at-home-mom for a while. It'll be a big transition for me...I think the last time I was unemployed was when I was 15! I will miss study abroad advising, but am hoping I can keep my foot in the field by temping during the peak seasons. I'm excited about being able to be with Gavin more, and to try new outings and activities with him. He's growing up so fast!

So, that's the latest. And here are the latest pictures & videos of our bubba. :)

First time to the swimming pool! He liked it but didn't let go of me the entire time. :)

Gavin didn't seem to mind the temp as much as we did.

Some all-around cutenes

Gavin turned 10 months last week, and he is just getting to be such a big boy now. He loves to follow us around wherever we go, and if Paul and I are talking to each other, Gavin loves to butt in (with either a repeated slobbery "thpt!" or high-pictched "huh!". This is all very cute, unless you're trying to feed him and you end up getting sprayed with sweet potatoes. :) Another cute thing he does is he'll crawl up to us after dirtying his diaper because he wants to be changed. So maybe potty training will be a breeze with this one!

Here are some more cute pictures of our little man. We also have a few videos we'll try to edit and post soon.

"what do we do with a little bubba-loo?"

Is it just us, or do you also find it hard to believe that Gavin is almost 10 MONTHS?! We continue to be amazed by the constant changes he's making. Two weeks ago, he was just crawling a little. Now he's following us around the house and can easily pull himself up to stand! We have multiple baby gates up throughout the house, the outlets are covered, electronics are out of reach, and the cords are wrapped up; but every time we turn around, we see something else that needs baby-proofing. (Like the stupid doorjam that pinched his chubby little finger and made him cry big baby tears and bury his face in my neck because the world no longer made sense.) He's such a sweet little tough guy. He squirms and squeals with giggles when Paul plays Chase-the-Baby or Get-That-Belly (we hope to get video documentation of this). And I love that I can say "give Mommy kissy" and he'll plant a big slobbery one on my face.

Anyway, here are some pictures from the last week or two.
