Gavin's photoshoot

My mom has encouraged me (often) to take Gavin to a professional to get portraits taken, but I, being the cheapskate that I am, wanted to see if could do it myself. :) I realize these aren't studio-quality, but the cute baby makes up for it, I think.

So far, there isn't a food Gavin doesn't like. You can hear how excited he is about eating in this video. :)

Six Month Tricks

At Gavin's 6-month check-up yesterday, the pediatrician told us to be ready because Gavin will soon be very mobile. Sure enough, as soon as we got home, Gavin decided to roll over onto his tummy for the first time. Even painful shots can't stop this little guy. He just doesn't want to stay a baby!

Gavin is also loving solid foods now like oatmeal, pears, apples, and carrots. He gets impatient sometimes and wants to do it himself, but we compromise and I let him hold the sippy cup. :)

Games We Like to Play

Gavin will be 6 months old in a few days, and we can't believe all the new stuff he's learned to do in the last few weeks. He's beginning to get the hang of rice cereal, and can sit up without assistance now and grab all of his favorite toys. He's been an active little guy since birth, constantly kicking and batting at things, but now he's REALLY into jumping. He can rock the Exersaucer & the Johnny Jumper now like nobody's business!

A Weekend Away

Two weekends ago, Paul and I decided to take the train up to Seattle for a short get-away. Gavin happily stayed with my mom where he was showered with attention, and we enjoyed visiting with our friends Carly & Max, going out to dinner, and seeing He's Just Not That Into You at the theater. Of course we missed Gavin, and he was so excited to show us his new tooth when we got back! A week later, his 2nd little tooth came through. Our little boy is growing up!
