Hide & Seek
Gavin's favorite game now is to hide from us and play peek-a-boo, so we made a little fort for him in the living room (see below). He also loves to go behind the couch and hide from us, then he'll act scared and squeal when we find him. Now that he's a serious walker, we do a lot of laps chasing him around the kitchen island too. It's funny, ever since he was a newborn, people have always remarked at how alert and active he is. In the early days, I would always mumble, "uh-huh, tell me about it" because he would never sleep very long and we were SO exhausted. But now, it's so much fun AND it wears him out, so it's the best of both worlds. :)

Hmmm, where's Gavin? He must be hiding from me!
Gavin, where are you?!

Halloween!
I think Gavin enjoyed this Halloween a little more than last year. We got him dressed up (as a giraffe) and Gavin and I followed some of the neighbor kids and their parents around while they trick-or-treated. Paul dressed up as a knight/vampire and handed out candy. As predicted, we have an entire bowl of candy leftover because I bought too much. Darn it. :)

lovely autumn, and vegas fun
I really love Portland this time of year, especially on the dry days. This first shot is during a morning walk with Gavin in our neighborhood, and the second is when I pulled over on our way to downtown and passed this view of NW Portland.

Last month, Paul had a week-long conference in Vegas, so I flew down with him the weekend before to relax in the sunshine with him. Gavin stayed at home with my mom, so that made it extra relaxing. :) I can't seem to figure out how to take night-time shots with my stupid camera, but here we are enjoying the Venetian.
