A brunch play date

Last weekend we had our friends Alex, Marcy, and Lorenzo Freddi over for brunch. Marcy and I used to work together, and our boys are just 4 months apart. Gavin watched in amazement as Lorenzo effortlessly army-crawled his way across the room and said "ma-ma" on command. He's a good little role model for our boy. :) While Gavin isn't showing any signs of wanting to crawl, he has recently started scooting around on his tushie to get from one toy to another. This morning, while I was turned away for a few seconds, he went right for my cell phone charger which was plugged into the wall...a good 2 feet away! Guess it's time to start baby-proofing...

Here are some recent shots:

Despite my wishes, our kid is IN LOVE with Elmo and can't get enough of this book

Spring...finally!

Gavin and I spent some time outdoors yesterday having a "picnic" in the yard, then we went to the playground and played on the swing. If only it could be 75 and sunny everyday!

Below are some more adorable photos from Dad's visit (thanks Kristin!).

Grandpa's Visit

Last week, my dad came out to visit for a few days from Maryland, and he and Gavin had a great time getting to know each other again. He hadn't seen Gavin since he was 6 weeks old, so a lot had changed! Luckily, the weather was great in Portland, and we were able to get outside and take walks and sightsee a little. Uncle Ryan and his girlfriend also came up from LA to visit, so Gavin had a lot more attention than usual, and loved it!

This is the same spot where Paul & I had some
of our wedding pictures taken.

Gavin loves it when Uncle Ryan reads to him

Gavin also loves to stand now so we broke out one of the toddler toys my friend loaned to us. It plays music, talks, and has bright flashing lights, so he loves it. He just doesn't enjoy falling down. We're working on that part. :)
So proud of himself. (Notice the belly.)
